TAMPA, Fla. – The UCF Knights (6-6, 3-6 Big 12) will cap off their inaugural Big 12 season in the 2023 Union Home Mortgage Gasparilla Bowl against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (6-6, 5-3 ACC).

The bowl game will be played at Raymond James Stadium, home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, on Friday, Dec. 22, at 6:30 p.m. The game will air on ESPN.

UCF is currently the betting favorite at -4.5 and total O/U at 67.5.

UCF has played in more Gasparilla Bowls than any other school, with five appearances. The Knights record in the Gasparilla Bowl is 3-2, with the most recent game being a 29-17 win over the Florida Gators in 2021.

UCF and Georgia Tech are familiar foes. Last year, the two teams squared off in the Bounce House, with the Knights winning 27-10 over the Yellow Jackets.

There is also a coaching connection between both UCF and Georgia Tech. Former head coach George O’Leary was the head coach at Georgia Tech from 1994-2001 and had a 52-33 record. A few years later, O’Leary became the UCF head coach in 2004 until 2015 and had a 81-68 record.
