ORLANDO, Fla. – A 21-year-old Orlando man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Thursday morning in Orange County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash happened around 7:40 a.m. on Americana Boulevard east of South John Young Parkway near Orlando. According to FHP, the driver of a 2016 Kia Optima was traveling eastbound in the outside lane when they veered off the roadway, onto the shoulder, and into a ditch.

The driver was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center and was pronounced dead, troopers said. The crash report says the driver was not wearing a seatbelt.

Video from the scene shows a damaged black car in the grass next to the road.

Eastbound lanes of Americana Boulevard are closed in the area.

An investigation is ongoing.

No other details have been released.
